A man who fell from a balcony while in his hotel room in Peru was discovered by his friends and called 911 after he was unable to get up and call police.
Police say the man fell from the third floor balcony of the Shangri La hotel and was found dead in the lobby at around 1:15 a.m.
PT on Monday.
According to Peru’s Ministry of Health, the man was a 36-year-old man from Peru’s coastal state of Calabaraxi, who had been staying at the Shangrigas.
He was identified as a hotel guest from the northern city of Santa Cruz who worked in the hotel’s restaurant.
The victim’s family is expected to receive the body on Monday morning.
Peruvian media said the victim had recently become ill and was suffering from a medical emergency.
He had previously visited the Shangigas twice in February and March, and was working at a hotel catering to Chinese tourists.
