St. Johns is excited to announce its first logo.
The New Jersey Devils have officially announced the name of their newest franchise: St. Joe’s Hockey League.
“St. Joe and St. Paul, the hometown of the New York Islanders and the city of St. Louis, are both well-known hockey markets,” the team wrote on its website.
“With the announcement of our new name, we aim to bring hockey back to these cities and the surrounding area.”
St. Johns Hockey League is a four-team league, with its first season set to start this fall.
The league has a minimum of four players on each team, but players can sign to as many as six.
St. Joseph’s, a suburb of Stapleton, Minnesota, was founded in 1885, and is a member of the Hockey East Conference.
The team has not played a regular season game since 2010.
